This album opens with one of the most well-known renditions of the 12 days of Christmas ever. I use it for the basis of the version we play in nursing homes this time of year (well, when we usually do. COVID has taken that from us, too).

There’s something both intriguing and comforting to me about the relationship between John Denver and The Muppets (Henson, I guess). I guess maybe he just showed up as one of the celebs on the TV show and hit if off? Whatever happened, he and The Muppets are a warm sweater. A cup of hot cocoa. That phone call you have been waiting to come for 10 years and it finally did on Christmas Eve.
